Medical infra in Daegu is well equipped.
There are 4 medical university, 1 oriental medicine university and college of dentist,
2 college of pharmacy, 5 college of nursing and pre-college of that and etc.
So educational institutes to grow up medical personnel and hospital infra is excellent.
In addtion, Kyungpook N.U hospital and Daegu oriental medicine university have
their own clinical test center for western and oriental medicine, Daegu Catholic U. hospital also has a bio security center.
More than 2,000 big and small hospital&clinics(including oriental medicine) are operated in Daegu.
Their medical level and quality is gigh so many of those are ranked in upper from the nation for the number of surgery.
Also in the result of researching numbers of surgery for hospital and clinics over the country based on 2006
by National Health Insurance Corporation, 10 of university hospital, general hospital, mid-small hospital & clinics
are ranked within 10th of the nation for 1 in small or 7 in large surgery parts.
According to 'Statistics of medical using locally in 2006' issued in last January by National Health Insurance Corporation, the result of usage in Daegu for medical centers in residence area was 91.9%, it is third following Jeju 92.9%, Busan 92% with a bit difference. It means that going to medical centers in other area is low.
